Abstract
This document is the written evidence submission to a call for written evidence by a parliamentary committee. The call was in relation to tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG), with a particular focus on the current funding mechanisms and how these could be improved. My response focussed on the areas in which I had knowledge. I aimed to show how funding mechanisms can circumscribe or impede addressing VAWG and provided evidence based on my own research and experiences about how this could be addressed.
The select committee publishes responses to their ‘call for evidence’ on its website. The evidence helps the select committee carry out its inquiry and the written evidence I submitted in April 2025 was published by the committee. My written evidence did not seek to answer all of the questions in the call for evidence, but to respond to those in which I had knowledge and expertise.
