The Music and Musicians of Filkins and Broughton Poggs

The Swinford Museum’s 2019 exhibition ‘The Music and Musicians of Filkins and Broughton Poggs’ offered a curated collection of music-themed artefacts and displays which presented a celebration of the history and development of musical life in and around Filkins and Broughton Poggs from centuries gone by through to the present day. The collection aimed to enhance awareness of the many roles that music has played, and the many forms which it has taken, within the history of local area and the museum’s eclectic music-themed collection included several unusual vintage instruments, oral histories, photographs, a wide and unusual range of musical artefacts, musical recordings and much more.
