Abstract

This novel work has a very important impact on the reducing of the cost of insulation of rooms, offices, houses or flats subjected to airborne sound. Materials used for noise control are very expensive. Now people can use a thin material with an air gap to reduce the airborne sound instead of using a thick material costing a lot of money. For example, people can use a 60 mm thick porous material with a 60 mm air gap to reduce the level of unwanted sound instead of using a 120 mm thick porous material.
