    Abstract

    Only Love Matters is a romantic drama feature film directed by Kamran Qureshi, screenwriter Iannis Aliferis and produced by Iram Qureshi for KQ Movies Ltd. The movie had its World premiere in Marbella Spain and the UK premiere at BFI Southbank, London, and regional premiere at the Southampton Film Week. The film is also screening at Brunel University London and Ravensbourne University London. The film entered into multiple international film festivals and accumulated over 30 awards. It also won the UEA's Engagement Award and was the finalist of Innovation and Impact Award.

    Only Love Matters was shot on over 40 locations and included more than 300 collaborators from across the globe, including actors, crew, screenwriter, lyricists, music composers, singers, and facilitators. It was filmed in the UK and the Great Indian desert. It is the story of an intersex mother, her sacrifice for her adopted daughter and the struggle for the rights of people like her. Being the first British fiction feature film that brings realistic intersex lead characters, Only Love Matters contributes to the visibility of intersex characters and their representation in visual culture. Only Love Matters’ team exploited multiple opportunities to create awareness internationally about intersex and their issues by publicly speaking in interviews on many media platforms including BBC One TV, BBC Radio, BBC News, That’s TV UK, Canada One TV, PTV News, podcasts, live TV transmissions and digital news.
