Abstract
The Mother is one of the most primordial and deeply held symbols in our human lexicon. In this film, the symbol is given a modern reworking through the story of a single and lonely woman in her late thirties, who is desperately trying to change the course of her troublesome life. Living in a nondescript, industrial port city in the South of England, she saves the money from her cleaning job in order to pay for a planned artificial insemination but when the doctors discovers her past she is forced to find an alternative.
