Workplace regulation research

    Project Details

    Academic description

The Welsh government has recently established a Workplace Rights and Responsibilities Forum, to strengthen relations between workplace regulators, employers and unions with the aim of facilitating information sharing between participating organisations. Its work programme includes an important element on evidence building by gathering data about workplace regulation in Wales. At its first meeting in October 2023, this work stream was described as including pooling of existing sources of evidence to build a more complete picture across the labour market in Wales. The aim of this study is therefore to gather data from the regulators about Wales and to better understand the sectors and types of workers who are particularly at risk from working in an unsafe workplace.
