Head of Sport Management with responsibility for management, delivery and quality of courses, new course development, student recruitment, staff recruitment and management, budgeting, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sport Management, Adventure and Outdoor management, Sport Coaching and Sport Development, and Foundation Years in Sport, Football and Health and Exercise Science.
Teaching and research interests in adventure tourism, extreme and lifestyle sports, work published on subculture and identity in skiing and snowboarding, and cycling. Also published research on experiential learning through tourism and outdoor adventure field trips and ran a Teaching Quality Enhancement Project developing a model of best practice for student learning through field trips.
Consultancy project lead: An audit of waterbased recreation on The Solent; Analysis of the effectiveness of working practices within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sports Partnership; Economic Impact Analysis of an International Sailing Event at the National Sailing Academy, Weymouth, UK.
