Personal profile
Frankie grew up in Hammersmith, West London but always had a strong interest in nature and love for the sea so left London after finishing school to travel and moved to the south coast to study BSc Media Technology at Solent University in Southampton.
After graduating, having enjoyed mentoring GCSE students at university as part of the the Aimhigher scheme, she trained to teach whilst working in 6th Form colleges across the south coast. Whilst teaching Communication and Culture, Media Studies and Photography she developed her own portfolio. She explored the traditonal photographic techniques of cyanotypes and black and white printing and produced various music videos and started to produce her own music.
Her compositions have since been published by Extreme Music Publishing, Mood Music and Ultraphonic Music Publishing and synced to various productions across the world. She has collaborated with various artists including Ink Project, Daffodil and Submyth and worked with various promoters, labels and self-released tracks.
She performs live and has toured the UK with Kosheen, supported Young Fathers, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Hollie Cook and many others. She has played keys and provided vocals for Yumi and The Weather and Pegasuses.
In 2018 she returned to Solent University to teach on the BA Media Production, Media Foundation year and Popular Music Production Foundation year. She achieved distinction in MA Critical Creative Practice which saw her return to visual arts and more experimental sound recording. She experimented with seaweed photographic developing and produced Losing a Landscape: Havant Thicket Reservoir, a project that combined her soundscapes, photographs and passion for nature conservation and community. The work was selected by Brighton Photo Fringe ECO:OPEN and one of the photographs was displayed on Worthing Seafront (2022).
