My photographic work, featured in F-Stop February Black & White Issue #117, explores the effects of hyperacusis through the series Soundscapes of Sensitivity: Layers of Hyperacusis (2022). Diagnosed with hyperacusis, I used photography and photomontage to process the overwhelming sensory experiences associated with the condition. The series visually conveys the claustrophobic sensation of being enveloped by everyday sounds, using layered imagery to mirror the entrapment and internal struggle of living with heightened sound sensitivity.
