I was invited to speak at the Hashir International Specialist Clinic as part of their Patient Education series, delivering a talk titled Echoes of Birth: Exploring the Intersection of Birth Trauma and Hyperacusis Through Artistic Expression. Hosted by Joanna Barker, Audiologist and Specialist in Tinnitus, Hyperacusis, and Misophonia Rehabilitation, the session focused on birth trauma, its risk factors, and the impact of auditory conditions like hyperacusis. I shared my research and artwork that explores the multifaceted effects of birth trauma, particularly how hyperacusis intersects with these experiences. As an artist and researcher, and someone personally affected by both hyperacusis and birth trauma, I used this platform to share my project that conveys the sensory challenges of childbirth and hospitalization.| Period | 28 Oct 2024 |
