Description
This study explores the implementation of collaborative multistage assessment in Engineering Mathematics at Warsash Maritime School, Solent University. Students first complete an individual assessment, followed by a group stage involving similar or contextualised problems. Analysis of multiple cohorts shows that group performance often exceeds individual results, demonstrating the value of collaboration in enhancing learning outcomes. Students also reported reduced stress and improved understanding compared to traditional examinations.
