The collaborative project Lineage, exhibited at Southampton City Art Gallery as part of British Art Show 8, explores personal and communal connections to Southampton through art. Inspired by Ciara Phillips' vibrant, screen-printed, and collaborative practice, the project engaged students from Winchester School of Art and the artist’s family members to uncover stories and images tied to their shared history. Rooted in over a century of familial ties to Southampton's showman community, the project reflects on the fading identities in family photographs and the importance of preserving these narratives. The resulting booklet serves as a visual archive of the artist's ancestry, contributing to a deeper understanding of personal and cultural heritage.
